About IG Viewer

What we built
IG Viewer is a free, browser-based tool for looking up public Instagram profiles and stories anonymously — no login, no app install, and no trace left on the account you're looking at. You type in a username, and the tool fetches that account's publicly available information on your behalf, without ever touching your own Instagram credentials or contacting Instagram as you.
Why it exists
Instagram's own apps tell people when you've viewed their story. There are legitimate reasons someone might want to see public content without that signal being sent — checking a business account's activity before reaching out, following up on a public figure's posts, or simply avoiding the awkwardness of a story view showing up in someone's viewer list. We built IG Viewer specifically for that: fast, anonymous access to content that's already public, nothing more.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants to browse publicly available Instagram content without logging into their own account or being visible as a viewer — researchers checking public brand or creator activity, people curious about a public account before deciding to follow it, or anyone who just doesn't want to open the Instagram app for a quick look. It's not a tool for accessing private accounts, and it never will be — see our Terms of Use for what's off-limits.
How it actually works
When you submit a username, our server looks up that account's public profile and story data the same way any browser could, and returns it to you. We don't keep a library of scraped content, we don't require you to sign up, and we don't ask for your own Instagram password at any point. Full details on what little data we do handle are in our Privacy Policy.
Not affiliated with Instagram
IG Viewer is an independent, third-party tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or its parent company, Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram and all related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
